Referrals
To receive the Medicare Rebate under the Australian’s Government Better Access to Mental Health initiative a referral from your GP will be required.
Medicare Rebate
When you make an appointment with your GP, they will assess your current mental health and will then provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan. This provides up to 10 sessions in a calendar year.
A general review takes place after six sessions. If required, an additional four sessions can be made available.
Fees
Session
The current fee for a Clinical Psychologist is $220.00 per session The fee for a Registered Psychologist is $190 (50 to 60 minutes).

A variety of psychological assessments are available and can be conducted on-site or at a preferred location.
Medicare Rebates
Medicare rebates for a session with a Clinical Psychologist is $137.95. The Medicare rebate for a Registered Psychologist is $93.35. Your rebate can be processed immediately if you have a bank account registered through Medicare.
